I found this old wooden, craft-style checker board
at Goodwill for $1.50.
I sprayed it with Primer.
(outside with lots of ventilation)
Then brushed 4 coats of Chalkboard Paint.
Letting it dry between each thin layer.
The next day, I taped off the edges...
and painted the frame with 4 coats of red.
After another day of drying,
I conditioned the board
by rubbing chalk across the complete surface.
Then wiping it away with a dry paper towel.
Now the board is ready to hang and use!
This is for my son, Austin and his fiance Katlynn
to use in their kitchen
when they get married in October.
Easy upcycling!
Keep Calm and Kerri On!
