Creating a Coffee Bar

Do you love coffee, but find your splurges at the coffee houses are costing you way too much?  Try creating your own coffee bar at home. The picture above is of mine!

1.  First locate a nook in the kitchen, dining room is best, but even your living room is acceptable. Make sure there is an outlet close by.  (We had a wine bar in the kitchen corner that we just didn't use...after a few changes...wah-lah!  A Coffee Bar!)

2.  I suggest you try to gather as much around your house before buying anything. A small old table, chest of drawers or hope chest can be used as your base. Plug in your favorite coffee maker.

3.  Next, gather a grouping of jars, glasses, mugs or other containers to keep your supplies like coffee, creamer, sugars and spoons in. (I used a couple jars, a vintage coffee can and old silver goblet and saucer).

4.  To make the space feel even more special, create a little platter to hold the collection on: a framed mirror, large plate, cork board or old silver platter.

5.  You may want to add a basket of assorted teas and hot chocolate packets.  Think about recycling some old spice jars into cinammon and cocoa shakers.

6. Add plenty of lighting to make the space feel cozy.

7.  Step back and take a look at your creation, anything more you want to add? There are no rules!  Now you will enjoy making your own cup of coffee you won't miss the coffee houses and you can spend your coffee money elsewhere!
