FUDGY OATMEAL BAR RECIPE

I found this recipe 14 years ago in the Fort Worth Star Telegram Newspaper.
I make it frequently for family and church get togethers.  Very yummy.
FUDGY OATMEAL BARS
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup Butter Flavored Crisco
2 eggs
2 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups Quick Cooking Oats
Mix sugars and Crisco together.  Blend in the eggs.
In a separate bowl combine flour and soda.  Stir into wet....then stir in oats.
Press 3/4 of the dough into the bottom of 9"x13" greased pan or stone.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
FILLING:
In a small saucepan on low heat, melt together:
One can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 stick of butter
1 cup of semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
Heat until melted.
Stir together to make a rich chocolate filling.  Pour this evenly over the dough.
Crumble the remaining dough on top of the chocolate sauce.
BAKE at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes until top is brown.
Let cool for 15 minutes before cutting into bars.
These are great warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup...
or great by itself.

Enjoy!  Keep Calm and Kerri On!
